Lieke Meijer
Junior Researcher / Advisor Climate Resilience & Social Vulnerability
Deltares receives some of the most challenging and complex questions from clients all over the world. Analyzing the available information and providing a useful answer to these questions is far from a standardized process. It requires top and up-to-date knowledge, collective effort and frequently thinking out of the box. As a junior, through my participation in such complex projects Deltares pushes, inspires and enables me to develop further my knowledge, skills and creativity.

For me it is important that sustainability is Deltares’ core principle in the research and advisory activities. Deltares ensures that activities contribute to global agendas, for instance the Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, as a knowledge organization, Deltares applies state-of-the-art approaches and innovative ideas in its research and advisory content. This challenges the employees to be adaptive, fast learning and continuously improving. In my opinion, this challenge is inspiring. Colleagues with diverse expertise are willing to help each other and our international working environment supports us to exchange ideas.”
